Palm Sunday

As we begin the holiest week of the year, we join with Christians around the world to commemorate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an entry that will lead to his death. Crowds greeted him that day by laying down palm branches as he entered.

What you can do:


  • Take a green branch of any sort (it doesn’t have to be palm!) and place it over the door or in your window at home. Christians on social media have been encouraging this act of solidarity and witness. Take a photo, share and tag @HolyTrinity.DC.

  • Read the Gospel of Matthew’s account of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 11:1-11) or of his Passion (Matthew 27:11-54). The short form is fine!
